Beetroot Halwa is an Indian dessert, which is prepared not only at the time of festivals but also made any time when you are craving for sweets. This can be prepared in the microwave in just 15 minutes. It is very easy to prepare and moreover, it is hassle-free. It also needs only a few ingredients like beetroot, milk, sugar, and cashews to garnish.
I very often make this Beetroot Halwa. I like its texture, creaminess and glossy look. You won’t even feel the beetroot smell. It tastes exactly like the carrot halwa. Those who don’t like beetroot poriyal can make it as a sweet like this and have. This Halwa is loved by all of us at home. So whenever I prepare this it just empties in no time. This recipe is so easy even a bachelor can cook it without any effort. Let us get in directly to the recipe.

- 2 Cups Grated Beetroot
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Cardamom/Elaichi Powder
- 8 Cashews to garnish
- 2.5 tbsp Ghee
- Keep all the ingredients ready. In a Microwave safe bowl, add grated beetroot, 2 tbsp of ghee and cook on high for 2 minutes.
- Now add milk and cook on high for 6 minutes. Stir in between 2 times. Then add sugar, cardamom powder and cook on high for 6-8 minutes and stir twice in between.
- Once halwa is thickened, add roasted cashew and garnish. You can relish it either hot or cold.
- I roasted cashews on the stove top. You can microwave cashews with a tsp of ghee on high for a minute.
- My microwave is 1000 watts. Adjust microwave timing to yours accordingly.
- Specified amount of sugar was enough for me. If you want more sugar, adjust to your taste.
Mouthwatering delicious Beetroot Halwa is ready to relish.
