Mango Kulfi is often described as an Indian version of Ice Cream. It is a popular frozen dairy dessert. Kulfi is traditionally prepared by evaporating milk on slow flame with the flavors of your choice. In this recipe, we are going to use the mango puree to give it a fruity touch.
Kulfi is similar to that of an Ice cream in appearance and taste, however, it is denser and creamier. It comes in various flavors. The more traditional ones are cream, rose, mango, cardamom, saffron, and pistachio. There are newer variations such as apple, orange, strawberry, peanut, and avocado.

These cute little pots were sent by my SIL from Chennai and it was lying there for a month. So I thought to make use of this cutie pots and hence made Mango Kulfi. Here we are going to see the no-cook Mango Kulfi method. Yes, you read it right. For this instant version, we are going to use condensed milk, full cream, and the mango puree. You can use any sweet mango which is ripe. Blend the ingredients, pour it into the desired mold, freeze it 4-5 hours or overnight and enjoy. If you don’t have any molds, no worries, make use of paper tea cups. Now let us see how to prepare this Mango Kulfi.
- 2 Alphonsa mango ripe
- 1 tin Condensed milk
- 250 ml Fresh cream
- 1/2 cup Pistachios/Pista chopped
- 1 tsp Cardamom/Elaichi Powder
- 1 tsp Saffron
- In a mixer, blend mango puree, condensed milk and fresh cream to smooth paste.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Now add cardamom powder, half of the pistachios, half of saffron and mix it thoroughly.
- Now pour it in the small pots or molds. Garnish with remaining saffron and pistachios.
- If using pots, close it with aluminum foil and place rubber band around its neck. Now place it in the freezer to set for 4 hours or over night. After it sets relish it cold.
- You can use small pots or plastic cups or even ice cream mold to set kulfi.
- If the mango is very sweet then increase the quantity of fresh cream.
- You can use Alphonso mango or any other sweet variety mango.
