Chickpea Salad is a healthy and refreshing salad with all nutrients. This salad bursts with multiple flavors. Chickpea is also known as garbanzo beans or Chana. We use it in making Chickpea Masala Vada, Chana Masala for Poori, Chickpeas Curry and also as sundal for Ganesh Chaturthi or Navratri festivals.
To make this salad I have used tinned chickpea. You can either use fresh one or tinned one. If using fresh chickpea, soak it overnight and pressure cook for 5-6 whistle by adding a little salt and water. Once pressure releases, drain the water completely and then use it in the salad. If using tinned one, rinse it thoroughly with water and then use it. I have used cherry tomatoes if you don’t have one use normal tomato. Cut, deseed, and use the tomato. You can add or remove flavors according to your taste. Now let us see how to prepare this Chickpea Salad.

- 1 tin Chickpea pre-cooked
- 10-12 Cherry tomatoes
- 1 Cucumber
- 1 Onion
- 1 tsp Pepper powder Coarsely ground
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala Powder
- Black Salt to taste
- 1 Lemon
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
- Thoroughly wash and drain the water from chickpea. Cut cherry tomatoes into two. Chop cucumber to cubes. Cut onion length wise.
- In a bowl add chickpea, tomato, cucumber, onion. Then add black salt, chat masala powder, pepper powder, coriander leaves. Then squeeze lemon. Mix it thoroughly and serve. Chickpea salad is ready.
- You can either use fresh chickpea or tinned chickpea.
- You can even add red chili flakes.
- You can even add any vegetables of your choice like corn, capsicum etc.
Simple and nutritious no cook Chickpea Salad is ready to relish.
