Rose Milk with homemade rose syrup. Rose syrup is actually prepared using rose petals. The one which I am sharing here is the easiest method using food color and rose essence. If you are allergic to food colors, you can substitute beet juice in the place of food color.
This rose syrup can be used in many recipes such as falooda, falooda smoothie, rose milk, rose ice cream, rose popsicle, pink lemonade, gulkand shake, milkshake, cocktails, lassi and much more. Going to share all these recipes one by one in the near future. This Rose Milk has so many childhood remembrances. When I was a kid while going for an outing I always order for this Rose Milk. Everyone at home loves this as drink or popsicle.
I always adore that lovely pink color with the flavor of rose essence. You need only 5 ingredients to prepare this pink beauty – Milk, sugar, water, food color and rose essence. Boil the milk and cool it to room temperature. Then keep it refrigerated before using it in the rose milk. Make a rose syrup using sugar, water, food color and rose essence. Let it cool completely and you can store this rose syrup in the fridge for a month. For a cup of milk add 2-3 tbsp of rose syrup or as needed and mix thoroughly. Serve with ice cubes and relish. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 3/4 Cup Water
- 1 tsp Food color Red or Rose color
- 1 tbsp Rose Essence
- Chilled Milk as required
- In a bowl add sugar and water bring it to boil. Mix thoroughly until all the sugar is dissolved and cook for 5-7 minutes until sugar syrup thickens and reduce to 3/4th. Switch off the flame.
- Now add food color, rose essence and mix thoroughly. Let it cool completely and store the rose syrup in an airtight container. It stays for a month in the refrigerator.
- Now take chilled milk in a glass. For one glass of milk, you can add 2 to 3 tbsp of syrup or as required. Mix it, add some ice cubes and relish immediately. Or else refrigerate it and serve chilled.
- Just boil the sugar, water mixture until it thickens or reduces to 3/4th of the consistency.
- Cool sugar syrup completely and then store it in an airtight container.
- If you don't want to add food color add 3-4 tbsp of fresh beet juice.
