Ammini Kozhukattai is also known as Mini Kozhukattai or ammani kozhukattai, a traditional South Indian recipe made especially for Vinayaka Chathurthi. This kozhukattai is made of steamed rice flour and tempered with mustard and chilies. This can be had as a healthy evening snack too.
Some items are standard which are to be made especially on Vinayaka Chathurthi, and this one is one of them. We also make Sweet Modak, Spicy Modak, Paal Kozhukattai, Stuffed Modak and much more. In this recipe, I just used dry red chili and green chili to temper. Some even dry roast dry red chili and chana dal, powder it and add to the temper. You can make it as per your taste and wish. Usually, to offer God as Prasadh we don’t add onions to it. If you are making this as an evening snack on a normal day, you can add chopped onion too. The rice flour made here can be used as an outer crust for any other modak. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.
