Apple Oats Crumble Cake Recipe is one of my friends guest post. I have been blogging here for one and a half years and got so many blogger friends in this blogging world. So I wanted to introduce their culinary journey along with my blogging journey. Today we are going to see about Rajeswari Annamalai’s passion for her culinary.
I am Rajeswari Annamalai a home chef and a home baker, graduated in computer science (Master of Computer Applications – M.C.A) chose Information Technology as my profession. My inner self always had an unconditional love towards cooking since my childhood. So when I quit my job as project leader and turned a homemaker, I had that opportunity to try out various cuisines in my kitchen. Having learned the art of cooking to some extent from my mom and my mother in law, I persuaded myself to explore more in cooking and baking. I love vegetarian food and always have an open mind in trying out various recipes. My daughter is my best food critic. I love traveling and had the opportunity to taste a variety of food across the world. The one mantra that I always tell my family and others around me is ‘Home made food is the best and healthy food’! Be whatever it is I try to recreate the recipes at my home in a healthier way. Our next generation will be nourished by the quality of the food we provide them. Happy Healthy life means happy generation!
Apples are my second favorite fruit after the king of fruits. In fact, I love baking with apples more than mangoes.
Apple Oats crumble cake is a delectable cake baked using whole wheat flour, apple, and oats. Treat yourself to this healthy and filling dessert optionally with ice cream. This flavorful cake is topped with crispy oats crumble above a layer of fresh apple chunks, on a butter sponge cake. The addition of cinnamon or clove as the spice adds a zing to this cake. Warm or cold it tastes the best! Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.

- 1 Pinch Cloves or Cinnamon powder
- 1 Pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder

- 1/2 Cup Quick Cooking Oats
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar or Cane Sugar

- Sieve whole wheat flour along with spice powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda 3 times to create a fine aeration.
- Peel and chop the apple into small chunks. Sprinkle little lemon juice to avoid discoloration.
- Prepare the crumble topping by mixing oats and sugar followed by melted and cooled butter.
- If the sugar granules are very big, grind to look like fine granules (like caster sugar).
- Beat sugar and butter until fluffy and creamy.
- Add the flour mixture, vanilla extract, lukewarm milk and beat or whisk for few seconds/mins until a smooth cake batter consistency is achieved.
- Preheat oven @160c. Place cup cake liners in muffin mould tray and fill ½ the liners with the batter.
- Arrange the apple chunks evenly over the batter. Spread the crumble topping evenly over the apple chunks.
- Bake the cup cakes for 20 – 22 mins @ 160c or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- If you want to bake this recipe as a single cake, use a 5-inch cake tin. Bake for 40 mins @ 160c.
- The oven temperature and the timings depend upon your oven. Please adjust accordingly.
- I baked 6 cupcakes and small 2-inch cake in a pie mold, using the measurements given.
- The milk should be lukewarm and not hot or warm.
