Making Carrot Halwa in MM(Mealthy Mutipot) is like a breeze. It took only 15 mins to cook the entire process in MM. Sauteeing carrot in ghee for 5 mins, pressure-cook it for 5 mins and add rest of the ingredients and cook it until thickens for 5 more mins.
After buying MM my first trial was Lamb kurma and it turned out to be perfect in just 25 mins. As I was not confident enough in using MM I did not take any video of that. After making 2-3 recipes, now I’m confident in using MM regularly. I thought I should share the basic cooking in MM with you all. So started with this simple Carrot Halwa.
I have already posted making carrot halwa in the regular pressure cooker. In the pressure cooker, it takes 30 mins to prepare whereas in MM it takes only 15 mins. Some usually use water to pressure cook carrot and then add milk at the last once the pressure is released, to avoid curdling milk or to avoid burnt inner pot.
But you need not add any water at all. Instead, add hot milk while pressure cooking the carrot and this will prevent it from burning the inner pot as well as curdling milk. Rest of the procedure is the same as we do in the regular pressure cooker. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.

- 3 cups Carrot grated
- 1 cup Full Fat Milk
- 3/4 cup Palm Sugar
- 2 tsp Ghee
- 10 Cashews
- Turn on SAUTE mode on MM(Mealthy Multipot). Let the display show HOT. Then add ghee.
- Add cashews to ghee and roast until it turns golden brown. Once done, remove cashews and place it on a plate.
- In remaining ghee in the pot add grated carrot and saute for 4-5 mins, until the carrot color changes light.
- Now add hot milk and cancel the saute mode. Close the lid. Now turn VENT to SEALING position. PRESSURE COOK for 5 mins on high.
- .Once done, quick release the pressure and open the lid.
- Now turn on SAUTE mode again. Add sugar and cook until the halwa is thickened.
- Then, at last, add cardamom powder and roasted cashews and mix well. Serve carrot halwa hot or cold.
- I did not add any water. I directly added 1 cup full-fat milk. The trick is, add hot milk so that it will not stick to the inner pot.
- I also used palm sugar. You can use any sugar of your choice.
- Sauteeing carrot in the ghee is a must. It gives a nice flavor to the halwa.
- You can use pistachios or any other nuts of your choice instead of cashews.
Delicious carrot halwa is ready in MM(Mealthy Multipot).
