Healthy and delicious ragi flakes sweet mixture prepared in just 10 mins. Ragi has so many nutritional benefits and can be consumed even by the diabetic. Ragi is a gluten-free millet.
It is rich in fiber that helps with weight loss and diabetics. It is packed with calcium, good carb, amino acids, and vitamin D. This healthy breakfast/snack is packed with whole grains and flavored with jaggery and cardamom. It keeps you energized throughout the day and provides the perfect dose of everyday nutrition.
You can either have this as an evening snack or can be consumed as breakfast. Take the required amount of prepared mixture, to this add a generous amount of milk, and have it like corn flakes. Saute ragi flakes on low flame for about 4 to 5 mins. It turns out crispy and aromatic. Instead of coconut flakes, you can add coconut bits too. You can even add any nuts or dry fruits of your choice. Both ragi flakes and jaggery powder are organic. Store it in an airtight container for a fortnight. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.

- 1 cup Ragi Flakes/Finger Millet Flakes
- 1/4 cup Coconut grated
- 3 tbsp Jaggery powder
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom/Elaichi Powder
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 10 Cashews broken into bits
- In a pan, add ghee. Once the ghee melts, add cashews and fry until it turns golden brown. Once done, remove it on a plate and set it aside.
- In the same ghee, add ragi flakes. Saute it on a very low flame for about 4 to 5 mins until a nice aroma comes. The ragi flakes turn to a darker color. If you crush the ragi flakes with your fingers, they should easily get powdered. That is a perfect consistency.
- To this add cardamom powder, grated coconut, cashews, and saute it for a minute or until the coconut turns crispy.
- Now switch off the flame and add jaggery powder. Mix it thoroughly for a minute. Jaggery coats well with the flakes.
- Transfer it to a plate and cool them completely. Crispy ragi flakes sweet mixture is ready. Store it in an airtight container for a fortnight.
- Saute ragi flakes on low flame for about 4 to 5 mins. It turns out crispy and aromatic.
- Instead of coconut flakes, you can add coconut bits too.
