When you are craving for sweet, you can make this in a few minutes and relish it. This is my hubby’s, favorite sweet. So made this on his request. The only thing that should be taken care of while making this ladoo is the consistency of the jaggery syrup. Make sure it turns to the ball consistency or else you will not be able to make ladoos. Once done cool it completely and this can be stored in an air-tight container for a month. We used to make this ladoo for almost all festivals. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.

- 1 cup Sesame seed/Ellu
- 1 cup Jaggery/Vellam
- 2 tbsp Peanuts/Verkadalai
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Water
- Dry roast sesame seeds in a pan until it turns golden brown. Once done, transfer it to a plate and set it aside.
- In the same pan, add ghee, jaggery, water, and boil till the jaggery melts. Filter jaggery water for any impurities if required. I have used organic jaggery, there were no impurities, so I did not filter it.
- Now, again boil the jaggery until it reaches the ball consistency.
- That is, if you add a drop of jaggery syrup to water, you should be able to make a ball out of it as shown in the video. It should not dissolve in the water.
- Now switch off the flame. Add sesame seeds, peanuts and mix all thoroughly.
- While it is still hot, apply ghee or water to your palm and start making ladoo. Take a handful of sesame seeds and shape them into a ball. You have to make it fast, or else balls won't form if it gets warm. Sesame seed ladoo is ready.
- Dry roast sesame seeds on medium-low flame until it turns golden brown.
- If you add a drop of jaggery syrup to water, you should be able to make a ball out of it. This is a perfect consistency.
- Before mixing sesame seeds with jaggery switch off the flame.
- Once you mix sesame seeds with jaggery, start making ladoos immediately. Do not wait for the mixture to turn warm. Then you will not be able to shape.
